The Lake Marie Home Owners Association has asked Lake Marie Valley Club to help publicize their meeting tomorrow, Thursday, October 20 at 7 p.m. at LMVC Clubhouse, 2327 Fallen Leaf Drive.

"I would like to encourage our Lake Marie neighbors to attend the Oct 20th HOA meeting. This meeting will answer many questions that have developed regarding the changing from our family residential zone, to accepting businesses that will effectively change our neighborhood forever.
"This meeting will include several County Leaders including 4th District Supervisor Bob Nelson, and Sheriff’s Lt Frank Vasquez. A representative from Planning and Development will also be there answering the permitting/zonings questions.
"Chris Rutledge, Director of the CENTRAL COAST RESCUE MISSION will be available to answer questions about the Homeless/Rehab home that was purchased at 2163 Lake Marie Dr. and what we can expect in the near future.
"Also, a representative from the PEOPLE’S CARE LAKE MARIE – 2186 LAKE MARIE DR has been invited. Please submit your questions to the HOA Board. We want this meeting to run smoothly and be informative.

- How many people (including staff) will be staying on the property. (Day & Night)
- What controls, if any, on leaving the facility will be in place?
- What safeguards will be in place for assuring that no drug use occurs on the premises?
- How many vehicles will be on site?
- Will neighborhood walks be allowed?
- What liability insurance does the Rescue Mission carry if a neighbor is injured or property is damaged by a client or someone connected to the facility.
- What license or certifications does the Rescue Mission have?
- What agency does the on-site property evaluation/inspection?
- Where do complaints get filed and who investigates?
- What county/state permits are required to run such a business?
- What are the long-term plans (number of beds) for the Lake Marie site and what is the process for permitting?
- Will the clients already be “Detoxed”, or will that happen at the Lake Marie Location.
- What type of detox does the treatment center offer?
- Is medical personnel on hand in case of an emergency.
- Is there a medical professional, psychiatrist and therapist on staff?
- What kind of education/credentials do they have?
- Smoking policy: no smoking on property, what about outdoor neighborhood?

- What are the type & number of calls for service at PEOPLE'S CARE LAKE MARIE?
- What “oversite agency” (state or county) does the sheriff send their reports to when a disturbance/crime/medical incident occurs etc...
- What types of the calls for service can we anticipate at the Lake Marie Rescue Mission? Disturbances, trespassing, assaults, vandalism?
- What has SMPD experience at the Men’ Rescue location in Santa Maria? Number of calls & types of calls.
