Executive Retreat and Dreams for the Club
The LMVC Board and executive committee members met on May 24 for an Executive Retreat to address visioning and forward planning for the Club. We are excited to share with you some of what was addressed at that retreat.
We started the retreat with a collaborative session aimed at the development of a working mission statement for the club looking at what kind of organization we are, who we serve and what service we provide. This was a powerful session that helped us as a board focus on what we are working so hard for and toward.
As a group we developed the following working Mission Statement:
The LMVC is a neighborhood club serving its members by providing social and recreational activities, events and opportunities.
We welcome thoughts, comments and questions from the membership on this statement as it is something that will continue to evolve and be refined as the club evolves over time.
After developing the working mission statement, we spent the remainder of the retreat developing priority lists for our short-term and long-term goals.
After much work, discussion, thought and brainstorming, the board agreed to the following short-term goals as those we would like to accomplish and work toward over the next 12 months:

Update to Opening and Closing Procedures:
The Sign In Binder does not need to be put away at night. In an effort to keep things simple, it should be left on the Sign In table. Sarah has made it unlikely to be affected by dew. Be sure to sign in when you arrive and sign out when you leave.
Umbrellas -- If you open an umbrella, be sure to close it and put a cord around it when you leave. If you are the last person there and any of the umbrellas happen to have been left open by someone who has is no longer there, please close them and put a cord around them. If not, the wind might lift up an umbrella and blow it into the pool.
The last member to leave, no matter what time it is, should lock everything up, including the hallway door, pool gate, property gate and the big white gate.
Thank you so much for your help.
Enjoy the pool!

Hi LMVC Members!
We opened today for the first day of swim this season. The weather was nice for most of the day and several members enjoyed the pool!
The Sign In Sheets are in a binder. When I left tonight, I put the binder in the hallway where the bathrooms are to keep it from getting moist from the morning dew.
The first member to arrive each day should:
- Bring out the Sign In binder and put it on the table just to the left of the door as you enter the pool area.
- Sign in and leave the binder for members that come later.
The last member to leave, no matter what time it is, should:
- Put the Sign In Sheet back in the hallway.
- Make sure all the umbrellas are closed and fastened with cords so they won't be affected by the wind.
- Lock everything up, including the hallway door, pool gate, property gate and the big white gate.
Thank you so much for your help.
Enjoy the pool!

LMVC Pool Opens on Saturday, May 29, 2021!
We are thrilled to announce the opening of the pool THIS weekend!

Starting Saturday, May 29 the pool will be open for member use. The heater is on and the pool is ready to welcome you.
We will be starting the season under COVID rules, but they’re much more relaxed than last year, thank goodness!
To get started on the season we need each family who wants to use the pool to arrange to:
- Pick up their pool pass
- Review the new rules
- Sign acknowledgement of those rules and waivers.
THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE YOU BEGIN USING THE POOL FOR THE SEASON! For those of you who want to use the pool this weekend, we have arranged to have someone available at the club during the following hours:
- Wednesday, May 26 between 1pm-3pm and 5pm-7pm
- Friday, May 28 between 5-7pm
If these times do not work for you, please email [email protected] or call 805-741-8084 to arrange a separate appointment. We look forward to processing this paperwork so everyone can enjoy the pool this summer.
If you're not a member, email [email protected] or call 805-741-8084 to find out how to become one.
THE POOL HOURS WILL BE:
OPEN SWIM
Everyday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, open swim will extend to 8 p.m.
RESERVABLE SWIM SLOTS
Everyday at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
